If I was a dragon I would eat cows, chickens, buffalo, etc., but never humans or horses.

Nice Job Mike!

Beef and chicken. I like fish too, but I'll always go for a nice steak if I have the option.

Shiff thinks they taste awful, too XP

I remember seeing Vsauce's thing on it, but I can't imagine the modern day humans tasting very good with all the chemicals and junk we put in our bodies. :X

Yeah, I've watched it when it came out! (I'm subscribed) It was informative as always, but dear Lord, was it weird! A quite creepy episode, if you ask me.

You'd be surprised at how humans tastes. Apparently you're LITERALLY what you eat. Your cells die and get replaced by what food your body absorbs. Same for air and water. You're practically the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the food you eat.

Also the first person to legally try it and go in an interview said it was like veal, tough veal. Buuut, i'd say vegans would taste like meaty vegetables, but meh.

Vsauce did a spot on this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWAF9P… basically, so yeah... But to be honest, my opinion is, it's better to feed something than to rot in the ground and/or explode in the enclosed coffin. (yes... apparently that CAN happen...)

So yeah, you practically are what you eat. You shed your old body, and get a new body by what you intake. Aaand apparently you're tasting yourself everyday, same for 'eating' yourself.

... And cats can't taste sweet. That sounds sad, cuz they can't enjoy food, only eat for survival than slow down to enjoy flavor. It's sad, but it makes me wonder what else can't taste good things.

Hope i didn't freak you out.

Yeah I know! And I've watched that episode of Vsauce when it came out. The point here is not what reality is or even if dragons (or Mike himself) should eat humans and like it. The picture jokes with the subject, basically. Story-wise, Braveheart comes from a land where dragons and humans live together in peace and they are all civilized. For that reason most dragons in his land do not eat humans. That is something that only a tiny minority of dragons do on occasion. Those are un-cultured/un-civilized dragons and in that land, that is considered a crime. Besides, Mike can very well have his own taste on what types of meat he'd like. =P There are people who doesn't like chocolate and in fact find it to taste horribly, so why not a dragon who doesn't like the taste of a certain type of meat, right?

Thats fine. Everyone has their own likes and hates, and even though people can have the same favorites, how they impact on said people, are different. Honestly, it's the diversity that makes things interesting. Finding someone JUST LIKE you is an almost impossible task, in fact, in such a rare occasion, if someone could, i'd imagine them to be the best people to be around. Can you imagine a girl thats completely life you? It'd be baffling sure, but it'd be as close to compatibility as someone can get. That is, if they're fine with having someone just like them, otherwise it might freak them out, or worry them, or anything, maybe that girl would feel the same way too.

As for the chocolate thing, i don't like it if i eat too much, or eat certain chocolate, it makes me sick, same for cheese. So yeah.

Strange, I've heard that humans taste like veal.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWAF9P… Though I would consider eating those that have the ability to talk cannibalism.

Maybe that's why the only time I've tried veal it made me feel sick... maybe I'll just cut out red meat from my diet entirely :puke:

Who's Jeff? o.o The person the meat he tasted would have come from, I presume? Well, it's not like he hunt down the person and killed him, sheesh! XD If I had to come up with a story to explain that, it would be very simple: In a visit to a distant land where dragons and humans are don't like each other and dragons do have the habit to have human flesh for food, Mike accepted to try on a piece of meat from a already dead person as a demonstration of friendliness towards the foreign dragons and to gain new experience. Pretty much the same as a tourist would/should do when visiting an exotic land with an exotic variety of foods. Like someone who goes to Burma and try on fried cicadas and caterpillars. Or one who goes to Egypt or some other of those Arabic countries and have a go on scorpions.

Cannibals have been known to compare the taste of humans to pork, which actually makes sense since we have a similar diet to pigs, and pigs are biologically similar enough to humans that pig insulin used to be used to treat diabetes and some pig organ-parts have been used for transplants in humans. I've not eaten bacon since discovering this.

I'm curious now as to where he tasted human, how that meat was obtained and whether he knew that was what he was eating at the time.

Indeed. There is actually an episode of Vsauce on the subject. But I'm never letting go of bacon! lol

I figured someone would wonder about that. The tiny story I came up to is very simple and straight to the point: In a visit to a distant land where dragons and humans are don't like each other and dragons do have the habit to have human flesh for food like in some folklores, Mike accepted to try on a piece of meat from a already dead person as a demonstration of friendliness towards the foreign dragons and to gain new experience.

Pretty much the same as a tourist would/should do when visiting an exotic land with an exotic variety of foods. Like someone who goes to Burma and try on fried cicadas and caterpillars or one who goes to Egypt or some other of those Arabic countries and have a go on scorpions. Same thing. You may try it just fine. But like it is a whole different matter. Besides, Braveheart's from a place where humans and dragons live together in harmony, so it would be quite strange/hypocritical to have him like it and/or even have hunt down a person for a snack on his own, don't you think? =P

Technically Christians should keep to kosher anyway, shouldn't you?* :P Fried pastrami and turkey-bacon are pretty good alternatives.

*that part was a parody of how people pick and choose bits of religion to suit them, not to be taken seriously in any way.

Perhaps, if offered something unpleasant like insect or rodent meat I might try so not to offend anyone, and I would be less willing to eat horse or dog but perhaps if I had been invited into the home of some nomad I would not want to seem ungrateful, but if I were offered whale or dolphin or some kind of primate meat I would refuse it and make it clear I felt insulted by the offer. it just seems weird to eat such an intelligent animal, and eating meat from a monkey or ape for me would feel similar to cannibalism, so there is a line to draw when trying new things, I think. Being told what I'd eaten afterwards would be a different matter though... which is why I'd pictured the situation going more like this:
"Esteemed guest, help yourself to this meat"
"Hmm, this pork has a... unique flavour, what kind of pig is it from?"
"That is not the meat of a swine."
"Oh, what is it?
"It is the meat of a man"
--spit take--

Well, I've never been taught about being allowed or not to eat bacon as a Catholic but all I know is that me and my family and everyone else I know did all through their entire lives and not ever was there a mention that it was religiously wrong. XD My dad in fact used to be a priest when he was younger and he loves bacon as much as I do! What I do know is that Jews are the ones who should not eat certain foods by religious restrictions. Catholic Christians don't really have restrictions as far as I know. I actually checked it with dad and there was a restriction on pork meat. It was in the Old Testament but it was dropped in the New Testament. Catholics live by the teachings Jesus left while Protestant Christians (some of them) follow more of the Old one, instead. Catholics are more "free", I guess I could say it. We can drink, we can eat, we can do a lot of stuff. The actual restrictions we have are mostly the duty to live by the Word and respect the Commandments. Of course there is more to it but I am by far the least qualified person to talk about it all. lol I might even have made a mistake or two in some statements back there. Heh. Anyhow, to shorten it, in my case, bacon is totally fine. :dummy: And don't worry. I do know that was meant to be a joke. XP If I were a addict then things could get hairy, though. lol Honestly... being religion-addict is not a healthy practice. It leads the person to several poor judgments and more mistakes than one who is just religious. Not to mention clash of ideas and ideals. It saddens me a little when I hear about a Catholic that is that way. Gives us a bad image, you know!

That's getting down too much into details a tad, isn't it? I didn't meant it like that! I too would consider a whole of factors before trying any of those things myself and definitely would not willingly accept monkey meat or dolphin. Especially dog and horse. I find it odd enough to eat goat or alligator meat. And rabbits and turtle, too! Regarding the pseudo-story I made up, it is mostly open to make it so he either knew or didn't knew what sort of meat it was. Although I did say "tried it for experience", I didn't actually state that he knew what he was chewing on. Only that he says to have eaten it. I didn't think whether he'd know before hand or not, so we can totally go with that!

I know that, I was just making reference to that parody really, which in turn is really about the way some people pick out bits of Deuteronomy that they find convenient but forget others, even though, as you said, the New Testament is the bit that's important for Christians really for both Protestants and Catholics alike (and incidentally most protestant Christians eat bacon too, the Lutheran church was originally set up as a protest against corruption in the Catholic church, much like the scandals of today, thus the name "protestant" as in "protest"). I didn't mean to start a whole discussion about kosher laws there.

A "religion addict"? That's an interesting way of putting it.

Not trying to make too much of the issues there, just figured that from what I know about Braveheart's character, and yours, it was a situation that seemed more fitting than if he'd known what he was eating.

Exactly! Though I don't know why I went on to talk about this subject in the first place, so don't blame yourself for starting it. It was my fault. ^^; Also, "religion addict" isn't the correct term. It kind of works but isn't the correct way to put it. I just can't remember the right term. Bleh. x.x

Oh yes, definitely. I can't really tell there are things he'd never do if he knew about them before hand, mostly because I'm pretty sure it would depend greatly on the situation, but in this case, it is more like he didn't know. That bit simply was not included with the rest of the story until you pointed it out.
