A Brief Tale of a Brave Heart - Page 6 [Final]
Chapter 6 – A Long Life Ahead. A Book Yet to be Written.
Word that the king could be having some personal issues began to spread throughout Dolphinport and eventually Delphinea in the form of rumors. Rumors these constantly denied by the king himself. Always with a calm look on his face and sometimes a smile. But what his expressions said, his eyes told otherwise. At this point of his life, Michael Braveheart began to care most about others than with himself, often putting the well-being of his subjects over his own and endangering his own life in some situations. What the future keeps in wait for him is yet unknown. One can only hope he find his happiness eventually, in a way or another, or at least learn to accept what has happened and move on.
Until then, one can only hope his shell can be broken and the cheerful drake he once was can be brought back to life...

Chapter 5 – A King on the Outside, a Pile of Debris on the Inside: The Never-ending Search.
Braveheart has never been the same ever again. As the years passed he grew up focused on becoming a good wizard and working hard to be the king his parents wished he would be. And he did so. During his rule Delphinea has never seen such prosperous and peaceful times. Being a winged-wingless dragon has never stopped him from being where he was needed. The people had everything and although he was happy with everything on the outside, inside the new king was nothing but ruins of his former self. That fateful day he had lost so much has never left his memory. He grew up solitary. No friends at all. Just doing his job as the new king as he should. Despite of that, he never considered himself any superior to anyone else. “King? Big deal. That is just a job with a fancy title. In the end of the day I am just another dragon like everydragon else.” The traumatizing eve

Chapter 4 – The Brave Broken Hearts.
At the moment of Auren’s death, Ael Braveheart, the king, had the amulet with him. He judged it was time the object was put to good use. He judged it was the only way to stop Darklek and his army at this point but above all, the only way left to save his family. Delphinea had already suffered enough and the worse, their allies were also paying a high price they didn’t have to. In a moment of desperation, Ael cast the power of the amulet to create a rift in space and time. A bright rift that began to suck everything around it into another dimension, it seemed, sort of like a black hole sucks things into it. His plan was to throw Darklek into that void and with great struggle, Ael stood up, shaky and bleeding from his wounds. “HEY YOU! MAGGOT! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT SO BADLY? THEN COME AND GET IT!” He screamed atop of his lungs, holding the amulet high in one of his paws. Darklek looked at him with an e

Chapter 3 – The Reason. The Legacy. The Burden.
The armies afflicting Delphinea were formed by large and violent dragons. They were led by a maniacal black dragon named Darklek Domalis, user of dark magic and colder than ice in the winter. Under his command and own claws, many perished. Humans, gryphons and even dragons alike saw their demise and the demise of their beloved ones by the clutches of Darklek. Those who were not with him were exterminated on sight in the most brutal ways. Some even say that Darklek was sadistic enough to decapitate the heads of his victims and keep them as a sort of prize. Darklek attacked Delphinea in two different occasions but it was only on the second attempt that his attack focused on the kingdom’s capital city: Dolphinport. This last attempt was the peak of the Shadow Wars.
At the time, Delphinea was ruled by two dragons, a king named Ael Braveheart and his queen, Auren Lin Braveheart. The rulers had

Chapter 2 – A Kingdom is Born.
It wasn’t long until the original elder passed away, however. He was the oldest dragon alive in the known world by then. He was gone but his legacy was left behind. His homeland was named Delphinea in his tribute. The elder was known to enjoy sitting at the beach to watch the dolphins play at the bay during the sunsets. The village he lived in received the name of Dolphinport because of its proximity with the sea and because of the dolphins in the bay and it has become the capital of the newly named land.
The elder had a son on younger ages, though. He taught his son all what he would need to know to keep things in order. The elder had been elected the ruler of Delphinea due to his efforts to bring the tribes together in peace and because dragons were in greater number and Dolphinport have become its capital city. He was afraid someone else could ruin all what he have worked for so far and thus, passed down his knowledge to his son.

Chapter 1 – The Beginning.
Down on Earth, tales of dragons are passed down from generation to generation. Stories about magical, wise creatures but sometimes fierce and ferocious. Tales about dragons exist as far as the human history can tell. However, our species has never found any trace that such amazing beings have ever existed in our small water world. However, every legend has a start. What if dragons actually existed but records and proofs of their existence have simply been erased from our world, only remaining faint memories in the minds of our ancestors? Memories these that gained life in the form of the stories and tales we know today. Only God knows.
In a distant world in an unknown time, in an unknown realm, dragons live on, surrounded by magic and their own culture, slowly evolving throughout the millenniums. Somewhere in this unknown world there is a land by the name of Delphinea. A vast kingdom bathed by the sea on one side and hugged by other four kingd
Hath No FearGiving yourself completely up to fear is kinda like falling in love: You can't pin point exactly when it started and by the time you realize that you are surrounded by that sensation it's already game over. Just like the image of the person you are in love with starts creeping out from every unexpected corner, fear never leaves your side when you give it a welcome stay. After a restless sleep, it starts beating anxiously in your heart the moment you wake up in the morning and commands all your thoughts and actions throughout the day. It is nothing short of a prison, except you are the only inmate and the warden never takes a break. Ever.
I do not exactly remember when I let fear occupy my being but I remember the exact moment when I realized I was ruled by it. It was late in the afternoon, everybody was out there 'getting busy living' and I had locked myself inside my bed half awake, not particularly finding any valid reason to get out of it. Then I was awakened from a nightmare by my
