Fun fact about this background: It is old and was never meant to be used on this pic at all. In fact, this pic didn't even exist when I began drawing this background. It was originally drawn back in 2012 for a pic I canceled for reasons I won't mention. It was never finished. I even uploaded a couple WIPs of it at the time:

  

Though I needed a indoors background that could match that commission in both looks and dimensions so remembered about it and to save time I decided to adapt and finish it. I gotta say, though... I think it turned out WAY better than I had originally planned all these years ago.

The background is recycled from another picture and so is the landscape outside those windows. To save time, layers and space in my hard drive I simply took an old drawing of mine, mirrored, resized and adapted for use here. This one pic, to be exact: 



Perhaps I should recycle more stuff every now and then. May not be as original as a brand new thing but it sure does save time and can provide some pretty good results!

When I finished the background I showed it to my dad and asked his opinion. He said it looks like the home of a wise dragon. That cheered me up and made me smile, so now I consider that hallway to be part of Mike's home.
